Most likely to ditch the “toy” look of the cartridges. The whole design change of the console and cartridges, both in shape and color scheme is all for making it look more like an entertainment device rather than a toy.

On the other hand, we now actually have something to spend those Gold Coins on.

Hell, 579 would be cheap here in the Twin Cities. If I was still single, I would be all over a clean, brand-new efficiency like this. Rent is fuckin’ ridiculous these days.

Take it or leave it but I prefer the sharper look of the PsVita, when compared to the blurrier look of the PSP. Just zoom in on the images and the vita looks great. Again just my preference while the PSP may be closer to the original content it’s hard to focus on it and I’m more precise without the motion blur.

I acknowledge that, but also Sony’s full treatment of the vita leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and this just strengthens that taste.

I will always praise the Vita for it’s build quality and the fact that it became my portable RPG machine. When FFX HD came out, I went crazy and downloaded every main FF game to the Vita so I could have FF 1 - FF x (and X-2) portable, not to mention it was what introduced me to Persona with P4G (which has made me

Also it makes PsOne games look beautiful with bilinear filtering turned off...Shame the PSTV has no such option

I think its some serious bullshit that the vita and the ps3 are getting cut off at the same time, despite the fact that the vita came out like five years after the ps3. Fuck you too Sony.

If this means less selfies, I’m all for it.

I really couldn’t care less about a front facing camera, so I’d easily sacrifice it for more screen space.

You don’t want your opponent to see your tiles, it’s like your hand in a card game. Even if you did turn based, your opponent would have to look away, or leave the room, or something.

I agree that it’s unreasonable to expect an overhaul, but this is /worse than the original/. They have actively put work into making a version of the game that looks worse than it did on the SNES, a 28-year-old console. The only reason to play this version of the game is if you are morally opposed to emulating a

No, I don’t remember that, because tons of speedruns of old games are possible because of glitches. A lot of new games are glitchy, yes, but old games weren’t perfect either, and Odyssey is pretty good about that. Just because people (speedrunners in particular) are finding bugs doesn’t mean they’re rampant. I don’t

At least looking at this case, the font is...well, too smooth is the best way I can think to put it. It seems to be a higher rez than the rest of the game, so it’s jarring and a tad distracting to me at least. I get why they’d want to “clean it up” but it just doesn’t look right.

Oh and one more thing (deal breaker, because I love the rest of the package as I see it). Can you confirm the lack of headphone jack (which if true, it really should have been in the article)?

Edit: ofc thanks for promptly replying to my question!

I thought I had read somewhere that the production crew had to rig the phone to be spring loaded, and that the actual phone you had to slide out manually.

A system being online only is different than individual games being online only. Imagine being required to have a connection even for single player experiences like Horizon or BOTW just because the hardware manufacturer deemed it necessary. No thanks.

He couldn’t afford to change any bits.

The resolution is a deal breaker. $300 will get you a decently sized 1080p flatscreen. for $500 you might be able to snag an older 4K. Portability is nice, but without at least HD, seems a bit too much of a novelty item.

The point of the Awkward Zombie one is that that game’s story is of a man trying to prove he would never kill another person with a gun, but the gameplay is him running-and-gunning. It’s not just that violent video games are violent, but the gameplay runs exactly counter to the story. I thought it was pretty funny.
