I noticed that when I went looking for the video a few days ago! Dozens of people were apparently laboring under the delusion that Ventura cleverly beat the shit out of Ryan’s fist with his face.

When your choices are “he got his ass kicked”, or “he was totally beating up that 46 year old man” there is no winning option.

Nolan Ryan is also the subject of one of the most underrated pieces of sports photography ever (IMO)
