I think it would be a toss-up. On the one hand, you have sane people who care about women and girls - they’d support a ban on FGM. There is such a duality to it as well. On one hand, the woman is seen as essentially passive, a decoration, an object, there for the taking, and a sexual toy; on the other hand, she is seen as powerful, predatory, devious, and a sexual danger.
