Well, in the Star Trek universe [at least] the “Helm” IS a single station which seems to serve for every ship movement need so....

Star Trek premiered on my 6th Birthday. Father said it was my present. I’ve always loved it...until the death of Vulcan, and this new thing leaves me completely cold. I don’t recognize it any more.

When I look for the fascists in these photos my eyes are drawn to the people wearing black uniforms, carrying weapons, hiding their identity for fear of justice and totally willing to beat down anyone who disagrees with them.
