OK, I’m connecting dots now. It’s a bit crazy that immediately after their first meeting, Comey thought “I must write ALL this shit down.” He must have noticed something in the meeting that made him feel like he needed a record of everything that happened.

Except Comey explicitly explained the difference between counter-intelligence investigation and criminal investigation. He assured Trump on multiple occasions that he’s not under counter-intelligence investigation but didn’t comment on any ongoing criminal investigation. I like the fact that Comey was very clear that he felt the need to document right away. That he knew Trump was dancing around asking for something that was shady as hell and that Comey needed to make sure he had a timeline of interactions right from the beginning.
