I think there is something to be said as well about how changes in weight are a very normal sign of deteriorating mental health. Thor wasn’t just fat, Thor was in an alcoholic depressive stupor. And they explored that (as much as they could for Marvel film anyhow). 

I can’t believe no one has mentioned “Fat Monica” from Friends yet.  We are supposed to laugh at Courtney Cox in a fat suit and see her as the butt of every joke.  Very traumatic for every teenage girl to watch!

I was going to say the same thing - seeing Thor as a hero, capable and strong, even though he was fat was meaningful to me.  

The few times I dipped my toe into the online dating pool I ended up deleting the apps and profiles within a day or two. The last attempt was Bumble. I thought it might be better if I did the picking, but it was not.
