He had all this time and experience with using Twitter, he could afford to buy it and fix it’s perceived problems...but this is what he comes up with? One bad idea that other people had already shitcanned, after another.  I bet he still thinks he’s so much more clever than everybody else too, even now.

We are currently watching Elon core skills are work. He is not an engineer or designer at Tesla, neither is he an engineer or an aerospace specialist at SpaceX. He is a micromanaging CEO in Tesla and SpaceX and while he happily takes credit for the work of thousands of talented people at those companies he is now the

He seems to genuinely be under the impression that no one would ever have reason to willingly part with $8 to deceive people. There’s been reports from sources within Twitter saying so but he himself has stated it a couple of times even just today:

For all of his bluster about change, I wonder if - when the dust settles - Twitter will be any different at all. I think he’s starting to realize that all of his vagaries aboutfree speech” and the creeping realization of what actual free speech entails and how much of it actually needs to be constrained is something

While I can’t say this is $44B worth of entertainment, I’m absolutely having a blast watching a narcissistic billionaire do his best “Sideshow Bob walking onto every rake” impression while taking something like the blue checkmarks, the solution to a verification problem, and turning it into the problem it was designed

The cool thing is that if I need to verify anything about Nintendo I just reach out to my uncle.

Naw he has too much money invested in it and it’s potentially too powerful of a tool to manipulate stock and public opinion for him to *want* to blow it up.

Musk is either so stupid he didn’t see this coming, or so malicious he doesn’t care and is trying to blow up Twitter for some reason. Probably the latter, really.

Sounds like the Thought Police from George Orwell’s 1984.

If anything India is mainly concerned with how Gandi is depicted rather than gods or religious figures for instance.

Our government, the world’s greatest standup comedians

That’s like saying “You can Google porn? Google should be banned!”

Actually, Malaysia has significant Christian and Buddhist minorities, and there were calls from local religious / political leaders of those denomination to ban the game as well:

I disagree. If they were TRYING to be as offensive as possible they would have to include Mohammad and/or Allah, since the Koran, I believe, specifically prohibits that. At worst they are trying to tiptoe up to the line without actually being offensive according to the actual texts behind the religions. (which

Because it’s specifically mentioned as such in the article?

I’m a Buddhist so I’ll just say my 2 cents... who cares? If it’s all in good fun then there shouldn’t be a scandal about this... depicting gods in other ways have been beneficial to people

This game doesn’t depict either Allah or prophet Muhammad, so I don’t see the point in pointing out that an ‘’Islamic Nation’’ is complaining about a game that depicts nothing related to Islam.

Not many people have done it, but if you pass the game on difficult, you’ll unlock Becky, a festival goer who wears a bindi, cross, and Cheyenne war bonnet.

I don’t know, as far as I can tell Islam is generally the only religion that’s notably intolerant of images of their “deity” being used for fun. (or, AFAIK, any other way)

I refuse to believe that something of this nature wasn’t always part of the plan. They basically went out of their way to offend as many religions as possible (but stopped just short of one of those pesky Fatwas you keep hearing about) and are now acting surprised that they are being subject to censorship.
