I love this story! Your house and your relationship with it is so cool. I 100% believe that old houses are semi-sentient and generally, the older the house, the more life can be found in it. Like a ´thickness´ of time and feeling, somehow.

Your sulky, unhappy thing seems cool as hell. Like your own personal Eeyore who steals hazelnut syrup.

For some reason, your mention of “perfect manicure” in your description of Warren’s campaign center seemed like some sort of dog whistle.  Does “perfect manicure” == “white suburban boomer”?

even though Prince Charles (the only good son right now)

While I cannot imagine the hell you’re living in, I will not be surprised if you post next year that he murdered his wife, or she was a captive the whole time.

It’s weird how some houses just seem to harness dark energy.

I’ve seen “shadow figures” and whatnot and this one that didn’t have a face, but nothing every crawled.  My pants would have been much, much heavier if they had.

Demons Everywhere, Apparently

We bought our house in 2011; it is a cozy little cottage-style house on a large lot in a small, friendly neighborhood and we love it, our street, and our neighbors, several of whom we know very well. The home has a main floor, upstairs (four bedrooms), finished basement (one bedroom) and attic. The

This isn’t too scary, maybe just a bit spine tingling.

First off, this isn’t SPOOKY, just incredibly strange. I’m an incredibly pragmatic and practical person, but to this day, I can’t explain this one.

Longtime fan of this contest, first time story-haver!

A Souvenir From the Stanley Hotel

I get frustrated with all this antivaxxer stuff for many huge reasons, but one big one is just what you said: nobody seems to ever ask folks on the spectrum how THEY feel about it all. It’s only ever how the parents feel.

You probably ended up lousy AND with a case of the measles.

Besides the potential for many husbands, nah. I can't believe anyone saw that in her because she just seems very flat to me. Liz was intriguing.

I remember back when magazines were describing a young Johansson as being the new Elizabeth Taylor. Looks like that’s tracking.

There will never be a better Batman than Michael Keaton, though.

I posted last week (I think) about my dad who was in the ICU on high levels of oxygen to the point where he could not be brought home. He died on Thursday, with me by his side. I just lost my mom in March. No replies necessary on that — I know anyone reading understands and wishes me the best. I just said I’d update
