One thing I think of when I think of Scion is who buys their cars. When they were first introduced, I was in HS and the economy was booming, half my class got new cars when they turned 16. In that market, a youth market car makes sense.

Goggle is testing their own self driving cars, car companies now have to see them as competitors. Since google records all data from vehicles, phones, etc. using their software when a car company allows google maps into their vehicle they’re essentially giving google unrestricted access to tons of valuable information…
side note, my Merkur had the MOMO Benetton racing steering wheel to an an extra level of odd and love or hate it looks.
I had an Aztek and wanted the Rally edition because the matched paint looked better... It was so ugly but I loved it so much. Best college car I could have asked for. That being said my list of weird vehicles include 2 Merkurs and an Aprilia so i’m strange to begin with.
