All of this. I feel this movie is getting a bit of that double standard that Ghostbusters got — it’s the female version of an originally 99% male movie. There wasn’t that much drama in the original Oceans movies — all of them — the entire point was the fun in watching slick con men doing their slick con jobs while

You are complaining that this oceans movie is an oceans movie. George looked hot at his parole panel too. Scott Caan and Casey Affleck behaved the same way you are complaining about the women getting out of trouble.

Honestly, isn’t this the definition of the genre?

And for what it’s worth, nobody exactly looks unpolished in the Clooney lead Ocean’s franchise either. I think at one point someone gets sweaty? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That’s sort of what I thought too...they look good and get the easy win. I mean, that’s honestly really no different from male-led Ocean’s movies. At least the newest ones - I haven’t seen the originals.

Isn’t them looking perfect kind of the point of this whole movie? I’m in it for the hair, the makeup, the outfits.

The debate over the appropriateness of cops at Pride is a byproduct of what happens when middle-class white men become the face of the American LGBTQIA community. As Harron wrote, Pride is the commemoration of a fucking riot incited by police brutality against black and brown LGBTQIA people.

No. She knows it and so do people who read from various sources-often foreign- and watch documentary shows like Frontline on PBS. That’s not “we”, that’s a tiny minority of us.

In 1974, he writes, Hersh heard that Nixon’s wife Pat was in hospital after being punched by her husband.

I think those conservatives are talking about a time when women were docile & “knew their place”.

Anyone who has ever left a meeting with 45 has evidenced surety that it went according to their lights. Only to be radically disappointed, later.

But according to new reports, the meeting did not go well, it wasn’t great, and Trump understood nothing.

When some conservatives point to the past as a time when women were revered, respected, and safe, it’s important to remember how much of the violence and abuse was simply not noticed or recorded.

I don’t understand it either. Fallon is literally the most benign late night host, maybe behind James Corden. I cannot think of anything he’s done to be actively horrible aside from ruffling Trump’s hair and even that got wayyyyyy too much vitriol.

And with the shitshow the world currently is, some nights you just want a soft pat on the head and some generic light laughs. If anything, he’s the PERFECT person for this gig.

In the past I’ve really hated on Fallon because he helped normalize Trump with the hair-ruffle thing and failed to be part of the resistance. I felt like he was creating a safe viewing space for Trump voters.

The man’s job is literally to tell jokes, provide a platform for celebrities to plug their current or upcoming projects, and be inoffensive. If he were wearing a MAGA hat and spitting alt-right rhetoric, I would absolutely understand taking the dude to task, but I have a hard time issuing a demerit to someone who

1. Whether you like him or not, Fallon did a really nice thing for those students and showed real class and deserves credit for it, especially in this current atmosphere wherein people are showing their uglier nature. 2) he does have talent and is funny at times 3) whether people viewed Fallon’s rumbling of Trump’s

This doesn’t change the fact that Fallon is the most toothless of our current endless roster of late night hosts, but, hey, he showed up and they didn’t.
