De-escalation shouldn’t even be brought into this conversation; the cop created the situation by attacking that poor woman and her kid.  This would be like a cop shooting someone during a traffic stop and a cop shooting a random person just walking down the street.

As far as de-escalation goes, this wasn’t even a hard one. This wasn’t a person with a weapon or something. This was an exhausted mom who needed some empathy (and a seat, WTF NY?). As someone who de-escalated a scissors brandishing kid today, weak game NYPD.

It’s always good when criminals have to face justice, but it’s great when they’re LEOs. And, make no mistake, that would be a just charge.

The officer(s) have already shown they have little to zero regard for the well-being of that baby. I imagine in her mind, handing the baby over to them will result in harmful consequences to the child including potentially death.
