Many “real” rape survivors have posted over the years that they did, in fact, experience birth rape and for most of those who use that expression, they stated that the birth rape was worse. Personally, I’m going to go with the survivors on this one.

Doctors aren’t gods and make mistakes all the time. Medical adivice is just that, advice. People are free to disregard it for themselves partially or completely and should not have social services sent after them for doing so.

I’m slowly phasing my physical book collection to ebooks. I have literally thousands of books, though. I got rid of an entire giant blue recyclying bag full of books and it didn’t even make a dent. One day, I’d like a home that’s not over run with books. I can’t imagine a home with none, though.

Have you tried The Redemption of Christopher Columbus? It has some issues, but is one of Card’s better books, along with a horror whose name I can’t remember right now...it’s been a few years since I dug it out.

Wow, Neuromancer was one of the few books I’ve ever loathed, and I’m an avid reader with an English degree. My husband didn’t even make it past the first few pages.

Actually, I’ve met very, very few pro-life adoptees, and I run an adoptee support board. Most adoptees are vehmently pro-choice. Funny how the people who have actually been affected are ignored by the anti-choice crowd.

It actually IS *zero* because women don’t go through all the major issues pregnancy causes just to suddenly decided they don’t want to be pregnant anymore. In fact, the only reason women who just don’t want to be pregnant get abortions later than “as soon as they can get an appointment” is money and restrictive…
