Oh, this wasn’t even directed at him, or anyone. I’ve just been seeing the same ouroboros-like Internet slap fights over ::INSERT SHITHEAD ASSAILANT HERE::, usually engaged in by the same handful of commenters, to absolutely no purpose and with no endgame in mind.

Cool Beans dude

“We” don’t have to forgive or redeem anything. The forgiveness is up to Ganz.... and the redemption of Harmon is up to nobody but Harmon.

He wasn’t apologizing to us. He did nothing to us but provide some quality TV (Your mileage may vary). He did something to someone, apologized, and obtained forgiveness. None of that has anything to do with us. Nowhere in the entertainment contract is it specified that the person creating my entertainment must be an

Part of the issue is the binary thinking of “good guys” and “bad guys.” It’s possible for Dan Harmon (and Whedon, and even CK) to both have done a truly shitty thing *and* be generally a good person who cares about other people.

Everybody needs to decide for themselves whether they want to forgive him. But I think there is a great value in acknowledging the earnestness of the apology, and that he did it the right way - acknowledging not just that he did these things, but the ways he lied to himself to avoid thinking he was doing something

We’re talking about Dan Harmon, right? The legendarily dysfunctional and ill-tempered show runner? Whose work is replete with relationship issues and disappointing human beings? I think Harmon is a genius but the idea he has behavior problems, particularly related to women, is not at all surprising, no more surprising

I think there’s a bit of a fussy little dictator in all of us (is there any better way to describe a small child?), and part of growing up and maturing is learning how to deal with them. Now that the writing’s on the wall, I think we’re close to moving past the phase where men widen their eyes and express how aghast

Good point. I think it’s the flipside of the people who will forgive a beloved artist anything. I think both are ultimately denying the artist’s humanity (obviously in different ways).

Yeah, the part where he was creeping on Megan Ganz is literally the only part of this that is new.

But Tony has yet to use his cheap renewable energy on anything but his owns suits and his own buildings. Oh, and S.H.I.E.L.D. hover carriers.

I’ve probably said this before but i understand why making the parents more fleshed out and less mustache twirling villains especially in a dramatic tv show but that cuts against the grain of the whole concept of the Runaways which is “what if your parents where actually evil super-villains” even when they do evil

Yeah, this show actively doesn’t seem to like the source material it’s based on or the universe it’s a part of.

The answer is that this show isn’t in the MCU. I know they say otherwise but literally nothing hints toward it, even when it would make total sense to. This show barely seems like a Marvel based show much less an MCU one.

Which is why it’s bizarre that they won’t tie to the MCU. Ultron was in it for fuck’s sake!

It won’t because the show is doing all it can to minimize the fantastic elements of the book. No magic or mutants or super-science or time-travelers or aliens, just generic rich people.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The show is boring and the changes they made— stripping the parents’ of their various genre traits turns the show into something less fun and more generic.

It is possible (but not likely) that the actual Gibborhim are at the bottom of that hole. ....Which means Molly dropped a truck on their heads, so that’s funny.

This was the episode that made me actually angry at the pacing and focus choices of this show. When they started writing this show, they had to have some idea what would be the core narratives heading in to the final episode and what were the central relationships. So if they knew that and were planning on having

Nothing. Happened. This. Season.
