Except this movie does have personal stakes, which are the reason some of the characters make the choices that they do. Honestly this review seems to be ignoring major moments in the film. I don’t know how the characters fare if you haven’t seen any of their individual films, but with that backstory they are three

I’m judging it as a standalone film and to me it completely holds up. It’s a story about perseverance in the face of almost certain defeat. It actually has a pretty solid narrative structure. You just have to shift your perspective and realize whose arc the film actually follows.

This movie was amazing, and everything I’d hoped it would be. My hype levels were unreasonably high, which usually leads to me being at least slightly let down. But they somehow still managed to blow me away (and even surprise me). As far as I’m concerned this is the best thing Marvel has ever done. Although it

“Any theories about where that gravitonium went when it seemed to explode out of Ruby’s body like a bomb, anyone?”

To be fair they’ve been kinda busy

“I actually cheered when he kicked him against the tree.”

The only disagreement I have is that even through all this, Ollie himself hasn’t lost that development. He’s still handling everything way more maturely than he would have in seasons past

Felicity does second guess his decisions sometimes, or at least give her own opinions. Not a bad thing usually but I think Ollie just wants to be completely independent right now and not have to explain himself to anyone (and who can blame him after those dumbass NTA kids)

Even though you’re right about characters abandoning Oliver for seemingly thin reasons, this one was just TOO out there for me to buy. Ollie raises his voice once and accidentally knocks over a box and she’s ready to leave? Just no. Either it was a hallucination or I would have been done with her forever

Agreed. I absolutely hated Felicity in season 3 (or was it 4?) but she has been great lately, and especially this episode

Uh what? Felicity is the best she’s ever been since getting with Ollie!

Hahaha right? I know we are supposed to feel bad about Ollie being impeached, but it was just kind of pleasant to be in a fictional world where something like that actually leads to some damn consequences. Never thought Ollie being impeached would warm my heart so much

I really enjoyed this episode, and the last one. Good use of the overdone drug induced hallucination plot. Although I admit, overdone or not, I have a soft spot for those.

The Star City City Council subscribes to the Donald Trump school of notifying officials of their termination

So much like what happened in the classic family anime School Days?

Epic response sir

Based on how that ending scene plays out, are we sure this movie isn’t secretly a cautionary tale?

Bastion is still the game that had the strongest emotional impact on me, but a lot of that was due to the amazing soundtrack. Couldn’t help but shed a tear when the closing track started up

This sounds like a pretty interesting story. Is there a book about this guy I could read?

Sure, I like him in that role too, but he’s a straight up villain now and having him as someone’s lackey does the character no justice
