You’re assuming that they didn’t already have people inside making sure that the IDs stood up to scrutiny. Keep in mind Hydra has been at this since WW2 when they were able to begin embedding themselves into the very foundation of SHIELD through project Paperclip. I’m assuming that by the time the academy was created

Yea this was the first episode where I genuinely wondered why not bring in the Avengers. But after thinking about it I can understand that Hale wouldn’t trust them to help, and or wouldn’t want them swooping in and taking over her mission.

I think the reason that is is because Fitz himself says he doesn’t regret it and eventually would have done the same. Everyone would be reacting a bit differently if he remained shocked by his actions and maintained it wasn’t him. Also remember that when he actually did the surgery on Daisy he was back to himself but

I still remember when Daredevil dropped and I enjoyed it but I was shocked that I found myself looking forward to the next episode of AoS more

Well it was the only Marvel TV show at that point so at that point it still technically was the best at it, lol

And this negates the author’s point how?

Hmm, there is some level of similarity. But, while I had some issues with the show doing a bit of wheel-spinning, the finale was amazing, and even the wheel-spinning was pretty compelling. I think it’s worth the watch especially being able to binge it now.

*slow clap*

Yea, that was always my question as well. It might feel more secure to be armed but I can’t see it making much practical difference to the outcome (except making getting shot more likely)

Huh? Not sure if this reply was actually meant for me. My point is that if cops are already likely to kill black men, having a gun only makes that more likely. Unless one is planning to pull a gun out and threaten any cops that come nearby, which again, probably will not make it less likely.

I think she legit just didn’t care. If she killed Jess it would be like, “well she stopped me from getting powers so she deserves it”

Man that was her own fault. Why did she just approach this dangerous powered suspect who’s shown no compunction about killing anyone who tries to stop her? We see this over and over in the series where people just treat this woman who they are well aware of what she can do, like they would treat any other unarmed

...yes I’m aware. But the context of the scene and the actual words she used make it far more likely she was referring to her “team up” with Killgrave, which happened in season 1.

This “protect yourself from the cops” line of thinking is so weird to me. Being armed as a black man just adds to the likelihood the cops will shoot you! Either you draw the gun in advance of the encounter, because no way they give you time to do so after the fact, they see that you have a drawn weapon and shoot you.

It makes some kind of sense in terms of lack of police response, but how exactly will carrying a firearm help young black men not get shot by the cops?

Was it? I didn’t get that impression

Haha I could see how you would interpret it that way. I was pretty sure she was talking about teaming up with a singular psycho, namely Killgrave. Supported by her mother being all “You think I’m like Killgrave??” in response

Hope they never make up. I was actively rooting for her death for the last few episodes. Not sure if that’s what the writers intended...

I’d take her over Trish at this point.

Both the toxicity of the two mothers, and Alissa’s similarity to Killgrave in that scene, were acknowledged explicitly. Did you miss the whole “you think I’m like Killgrave” moment?
