I tell you what. I was a cool mom for taking my kids to see They Might Be Giants and having punk luminaries stop by the house for burritos. Clearly, I was total bush league.

Millenial? Gen-whoozie? Chile, mama's been rocking leggings & an oversized menswear shirt (belted, or wrapped w a scarf. And a vest) since the late 70s.

Band shirts can be sewn shut at waist, neck & armholes, then stuffed to make pillows. or press them flat & frame them. Not that I've done either - my drawer is still clogged with obscure 80s shirts.

Any time I have had this or similar discussions with some conservative wingnut, they swear they personally know someone who is totally gaming the system, getting all sorts of fat bennies for free and spending their days lolling around watching free cable TV, chatting on their brand new Obamaphone and eating steaks

Next time it comes up, laugh and say, OMG I just read this article online about bachelorette parties; some of them sounded soooo fun!! Then go on to detail a few favorites from this list - while subtly watching for her eyes to light up on an alternative you can pounce on.
