I’ve never understood this...I’m “a woman of color,” and I’ve *never* felt the need for a safe space. I’d prefer a space where people can speak their minds and challenge one another.

But if talcum/deodorant are so dangerous, wouldn’t it be equally dangerous to put it on yr under arms? It’s not as though it’s suddenly goingt o be safe for you in one area and dangerous in another area.

Why are people saying it’s insane and obviously a bad idea? It would never occur to me to do it, but why is it obviously a horrible idea? Is it obvious it would cause cancer or something?

You’re wondering about the instinct to survive? I mean...it’s one thing to know intellectually it doesn’t matter if you exist but it’s another to just give up and basically die...

Is there a danger of attracting vermin, in that case? I’d be worried about keeping it around...

I don’t think it’s that weird. I have shoulder length hair (though very thick), and I never run with it in a ponytail. It doesn’t really stay, and I end up having to adjust it half the time. Easier just to let it fall free and not worry about it.
