Totally agree about Ray. I don't think he's actually spent enough time with Marnie to realize her ways. (Have they? Other than just sleeping together? Either way, I can find him trailing Marnie on tour to be a challenge for anyone) He just seems to be puppy love into her, and I'm not sure how long that can

Ray's "I'm just a mortal man" when Marnie was talking to him killed me.

Has Richard Shepard directed previously in the series? Maybe it's a combo of superb directing+writing, but these past two episodes have been sublime. Hannah having it click that Jessa and Adam were together was such a great moment, and beautifully shot. I totally expected Hannah, in her typical outlandish fashion, to

I have really had a love/hate relationship with the show, but I agree, this was a superb episode of television. I've usually found Allison Williams to be a weak link on the show but she did knock it out of the park.

Huh, that's so true! I really didn't think of it that way (interesting parallel you made with the Rico/stripper storyline. Speaking of which, boy did that drag on and on….). That is really a good point: it is so great how the show gives you room to think and interpret. I think the intent with Hoyt committing suicide

Yeah, last night was my least favorite "remix" of the lyrics, but I've loved them all so far.

It doesn't help that I feel most of Paul's background storyline is not relevant to the plot, at all: Ani's father and sister have been important in terms of discoveries (especially with Ani asking for her sister's help to get into one of those parties) and Ray provided a connection to Frank. But Paul, other than

And for that, I'm very glad.

Brilliant.

I wasn't that big a fan of Girls to begin with, but I don't feel like they were snubbed this season, which to me was the weakest. If anything, I'm glad the two highlights for me, Adam Driver and Gaby Hoffman, were recognized.

Timothy Simmons and Hugh Laurie both did fantastic work the past season.

Episodes is fantastic. Strong acting work all across the board and it's hilarious.

I would have loved to see Kathleen Rose Perkins nominated. She does such excellent work, season after season.

On another note, is it just me or has Matt LeBlanc been nominated for Episodes every season? Not that I'm complaining, I adore the show (sad there aren't many fans it seems) but it seems to run totally under the radar. And he won the Golden Globe for it one year, too.

RICHARD JENKINS!!!! Nice surprise nomination for Zoe Kazan in Olive Kitteridge there, too.

In person?! I'd love that!!

Is that for sure?! Man, how could would it have been to finish it up with the ten year anniversary of the finale! (This August!!)

Peter Krause is fantastic. Excited to see what this will bring, although I remember reading an interview right around when Parenthood ended, that he met with Aaron Sorkin about a show that he unsure of taking on, which sort of breaks my heart.

When I was in 8th grade, a friend of mine from Latin class was so into Fireflies, probably at the height of its popularity, that she printed out the lyrics and slid it into the cover of all of her binders. And, also in 8th grade, Hello Seattle was my alarm. Fun times!

Yep! Interesting touch, wonder if it was just a pilot episode to second episode change, but I'm hoping they keep the habit of switching things up. I for one really like this season's theme song.
