“I said, ‘I’m not big on school,’ and I will back that up,” he says.

“The appeal of the rescue is that it’s a happy ending,” says Janie Chuang without the slightest touch of irony.

Then there’s this: LaRoche, along with Brewers pitcher Blaine Boyer, spent 10 days in November in Southeast Asian brothels, wearing a hidden camera and doing undercover work to help rescue underage sex slaves.

Yeah. Feel free to call him D’Brickashaw every other weekend.

I don’t know of a SINGLE State that allows you to physically resist an arrest. You want to contend the arrest as unlawful you have to do it IN COURT. Not on the streets by physically moving away, squirming or otherwise....RESISTING.

Her crime was running in the street and telling a cop to F off after being asked not to. You don’t get to ignore cops when you don’t feel like obeying the law. That’s not how a functioning society works.

And my point remains that misogyny is not the only motivator of rape, and shouldn’t be used to say ALL rape is a legally defined hate crime.

“Buter misogyny is for fucking ever - and it taints everything, everything sexual, including gay sex (“take it like a bitch”) and indeed gay rape (“You’re dirty”).”

“...or, if not a female human being, then a man, boy or girl in the place of a woman, with the same misogynist power dynamic alive in the act of raping.”

The issue of consent is inherent in many crimes. Because they constitute a violation of someone’s autonomy/sovereignty.(Hence violence) You would have to argue that all crimes that involve the violation of someones autonomy are hate crimes.

i’ve read through your comments and the only way i can wrap my miserable cis-het-male head around them is to stipulate that by the word “rape” you mean specifically the rape of women by men (not men by other men, boys by women, etc.), that the mere fact of the crime itself serves as incontrovertible evidence of the

He’s not wrong - critics CAN say the same thing. Reviews are simply opinions. I, personally, enjoy all the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and felt nothing towards TFA. These are my opinions and I don’t expect you or anyone else to 100% agree or need to nor would you or anyone else agreeing validate my feelings as

Lex knew that Lois would question the bullet and trace it back to him, which allowed him to bait Superman into saving her and to meet him at the top of the tower. He would then show the Martha pics to rage him into fighting Batman. Lex hates Gods and wants to prove that a raging Man can destroy God. If Man can’t kill

Doug, can we get you a better lav mic? Preferably one that doesn’t look like a USB drive from 2006 attached to your collar?

Actually for tentpole movies the studio can get anywhere from 80% to 100% for the first 2 weeks depending on what they demand, then it dwindles afterwards. This is no doubt one of the reasons why concessions cost a fortune.

to be honest all the crap critics said about BvS can be said about all the Marvel movies and even Star Wars: TFA. But those movies are significantly better off on all the review sites.

As a fan, I found BvS to be a strong but flawed launch for the Justice League. There were certainly weaknesses which can be improved

I can tell you that I enjoyed it. I think this article points out some things that are valid. For me, a lot of the movie was about world-weariness: After 20 years of fighting crime and not making much of a difference (‘criminals are like weeds; you pull one out and another grows in its place,’ to paraphrase Bruce);

Great movie. Good thing the internet hate train will not be hurting ticket sales by this point.

Huh. I liked BvS a lot more than Age of Ultron. It’s not without its (numerous) flaws, definitely, but it was a lot more enjoyable to watch. But the thing is, I don’t really care that Batman kills people (how exactly do you not kill people when you’re in an attack aircraft? I’d like to know that), that Superman is so

Congrats. I'll see it. This article is so polarizing that it makes me curious enough to see the film. I hope with the context of this article I enjoy this film more.
