Woof, amazing piece and then you have to go full gawker in the 2nd to last paragraph. Still enjoyed it but damn man, report, keep your opinion out of it. No shortage of opinions these days but a huge shortage of actual, you know, reporting.

I wish there were more people like you out there.
Thanks for being the (one?) voice of reason here. These comment sections have become downright disturbing.

10/10. Did it not “subvert their expectations”?
jesus, why is this so hard to understand?
Nailed it.
Your takes are all spot on. God this movie was trash. I’d put it behind the prequels tbh.
Nailed it. No idea why people are trying so hard to claim everyone who didn’t like it is just some old out of touch nobody who wanted to see them remake the original trilogy.
But that was all necessary so we could have the “mansplaining in space” narrative

Agreed — people make buying a car sound like the scariest thing ever, I’ve never had any issues. Other than once they tried to do the etched VIN thing + once they tried to sell me on the audi care extended warranty type deal. Both times I just said “no”, and we moved on. No one was angry, no drama, just moved on.
Is there seriously still no fucking matchmaking?
The best is the people who tell you (and genuinely think) they’re just “casual” and you’re clearly “dumb” for not having everything leveled up by doing x-y-and-z already. Then you check and you’re at ~20 hours over 1 month, and they’re at ~200.
A million times this. Some of us are stuck playing the game of “life” for the bulk of our time. If you can afford to play a 48 hour straight marathon, great for you, but that’s not the “real world”.
