He's right about 8 and 16-bit games being great imagination fuel. Even portables recreate a little of that retro charm.
A family friend's kids have nothing to play but Wii Sports and movie tie-in games... I gave them De Blob and NiGHTS out of pity.
Video games have, overall, not really benefited by like and career prospects.
