I swear, Lady Gaga lives her life through a complex mechanism involving cutting up a dictionary, a lottery machine, a map, a dartboard and several untrained monkeys.

I think what they're trying to get at is that games in Japan have become too focused on appealing to the base, to the expense of creativity or innovation. As a result they're eventually becoming parodies of themselves. I think anime is having a similar problem nowadays, the niche otaku stuff has become mainstream.
@TC-man: You have a point there, the big Japanese companies are still doing find... but not so much everyone else.
A new Star Fox game would be perfect right about now. The Wii needs more variety of quality games, and we haven't had that kind of space shooter that I can remember in years.
@Nihilexistentialist: There's a zillion generic FPSes on the market, and even shooter fans are most likely to see 'X-com' as yet another one probably not worth notice.
Reminds me of the article a few weeks ago where a few girls chose paddling over suspension.
Bowser's always been one of the best classic video game villains. He has an unmistakeable, fearsome and classic design, has a themed supporting cast, and is as flexible for casting and actions as the hero.
What story? What universe? X-COM has an excuse plot and cheesy aliens and designs. The gameplay is the only thing we care about.
This is probably going to be much better in every way than that god-forsaken FPS.
This is a terrible idea. Nobody who cares about X-COM is going to be pleased about making it yet another generic shooter.
@Neb: So where can I get my hands on that then?
That reminds me, I got Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee for the Gamecube, and managed to gather four controllers and four players, including my brothers.
@fake2fake: I gotta wonder how they can ride a horse wrong in movies, considering they're probably riding real horses and need real skills to show it.
@Oni-Tasku: I second that emotion.
18 is the winner. No question.
How the heck does Nintendo manage to keep their game development under wraps?
@Stradigos: The soldiers of the future... have the lungs of steel.
I got a feeling
@Suzaku: Eh, it's slowly been getting darker. There's always been elements like the Pokemon Tower, and Team Galactic is basically as G-rated as a Cthulhu cult can get.
I'm less interested in the colours, more in the art style. What are they going for here?
