The initial CDC advice was an exercise in CYA to avoid exacerbating the national PPE shortage AND to protect POTUS’ delicate feelings. Notice whether initially or currently the CDC advice on wearing masks has NEVER suggested there is any downside for the user in wearing a mask.

That’s not the way it works though. The masks we’re wearing in public are to prevent you spreading anything to others. It does very little to protect you.

The fact that a significant portion of the public expects scientists, the media and the government to immediately understand everything about a virus previously unknown to man is illustrative of a much bigger problem.

This is not how masks work. Your mask protects someone else. Someone else’s mask protects you.

Sure, all of that was a bit confusing, but it isn’t confusing after being told that your county now requires you to wear a mask in public and you walk past a sign on the door plus a couple more reminding you that masks are required now because of local requirements and/or store policies. If someone really is still

This is wrong. Herd immunity is a thing for vaccinations and masks. Both protect the people around you much more than they protect you.

But your ill informed choices are putting my health and my family’s health at risk. And you’re willfully misunderstanding the “perceived benefit”. I would rather characterize the perceived benefit as: millions of people who would have died or needlessly suffered in an overwhelmed healthcare system DON’T DIE.

Georgia’s cases aren’t dropping, though.

My God, the comments here. We truly live in the dumbest time in history.

Don’t confuse “economy” with “biology”. They’re different subjects in school for a reason.  We’re talking about biologically safe, not economically safe.

I’m finding this “x% capacity” thing kinda, well, untenable. I doubt many are paying that close attention. I find it highly dubious that if a restaurant gets a lunch run it’s going to keep half the place closed, at least not after the first few days. Make it 50% and if you’re SUPER lucky, you’ll get 65%... then 75% a

So... the news reports of people dying around the globe of COVID are a liberal conspiracy, but the (checks notes) Internet postings about “millions” starving to death are believable?

surely you can’t expect the orange shit gibbon to think that far ahead

Unfortunately that story is mostly about demand for food going way down because the restaurant industry is closed up right now. So a lot of produce is going to waste, but it looks like in California they’ve been able to figure out a way to get some of it to desperate food banks.

I mean in this time where nobody should really be leaving their homes anyways, why do people feel the need to clean them more than normal? I get it, its an on-the-go sort of console, but nobody except essential workers should be on the go. if you only go out for groceries and immediately wash yourself when you get

You’re defective.

This is a good idea, and here is why.

Heavily vegetable-topped pizzas can have a lot of water on top if they are prepared incorrectly; and cutting said pizza will lead to a box so soggy that the pizza falls through it onto my shoes which WERE flyknit Nikes and now I have hot pizza water BURNING MY FEET and that’s how

Nah, the biggest objection to the film is that it’s straight-up and unabashedly fucking racist.

Don’t you understand that if we simply avoid mentioning Joe Biden’s horrific record and absolute lack of appeal to anyone under 45, those issues will simply go away in time for a general election?
