Couldn’t agree more. Once upon a time, an AMG was a truly insane car special crazy awesome rare car. Only the C63 507 and the A45 (375 bhp in a small hatch must be a damn handful!) feel the same.
How can he constantly shift without the clutch? Is he just perfecty rev-matching everything??!
SS looks a bit better but damn, actually both of those cars look fine!
I guarantee you Chevrolet cannot make changes to the structure of a car that conceivably could impact it’s crash characteristics (according to engineering models) without new crash tests.
You know, I clicked on this article expecting to hate it. But I really respect what you’ve done with it. I wouldn’t ever do it but I sure do like looking at it.
Let’s get real guys. Arizona has no rust, lax registration laws, permissive emissions, and fairly lax cops as well as a bunch of great roads. Additionally, it’s warm and only snows in the high country so you can pick and choose your exposure to snow. It’s perfect!
Maybe they’re not but the M3 and the ATS are pretty damn sizable cars. They’re very close to an E39 M5 which is the perfect mid-size car IMO.
There’s actually the M5, the M3, the ATS-V, and the Chevy SS...
About 10% which is good. Porsche recently said they’ll keep that manual around for as long as there is appreciable demand (probably through the next generation of 911 ~2028)
Schieffergrau with Alpinweiss accents 400hp Singer “Tucson”
Couldn’t agree with ya more!
Honestly, I don’t find your example that offensive. That’s a 996 which already is missing a motor and transmission and is a fairly unloved model and additionally is know to have some mechanical faults.
This is really interesting actually. I was naturally thinking of performance cars but I think you’re really right about this. Maybe my ideal candidate, if I’m thinking about it like that, would be a 70 Ranger or something.
I don’t think he’s right, you can’t say cars now are bad. But modern cars for the most part have lost a lot 0f the intangibly enjoyable parts of driving. I mourn the loss of simplicity and playfulness.
RX7 GSL. There you go
I do think there’s one time when Euro plates are okay though. I inherited a Euro-spec Corrado from my dad and we have the front plate that it wore in Germany on it (as plates stay with a vehicle in Europe and Arizona doesn’t have front plates).
Correction: Failed diversion of the Colorado River, not heavy rainfall, created the Salton Sea.
Totally know where this is (I think)
