My guess is that moving the wipers turns the wiper motors into low-voltage generators. There are likely position sensors on the motors which tell the control unit when to cut power to them (park them). The unexpected input voltage on that circuit must be tripping a logic gate in the controller.

Exactly right. If you look at the performance gain curves for any of the major tuners, the “base” dynos for the stock car are well over what Audi puts in their specs. Closer to 360/350 than 333/325. So unless Audi is again under rating the new B9, the numbers are close.
I’ve heard that it wasn’t so much that the DSG couldn’t handle the new engine’s torque, but that it didn’t pair well with the DSG for everyday/rush hour driving.
