I was sick over thanksgiving and watched a Harry Potter marathon where he was Cool Guying up my tv every commercial break in YSL ads. It was like God wanted to put a cherry on my suffer sundae.

“Squeak squeak! Misandry!”
It’s cute that he thinks he is a prominent public figure.
I wish everyone supported women because its the right thing to do, but the truth is that most of them just don’t. They need a personal tie to know its important. But if that changes their perspective about supporting ALL women?I’ll take it. Better late than never- your daughters can be the gateway to feminism and I…
The secret message these cops are sending is “no black people should have guns, period”. ...and they keep getting away with it.
The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company,…
We will never run out of idiots.
Put man who is trained to react to insubordination with violence in a building full of people for whom insubordination is akin to breathing.
He wasn’t active-duty. According to Army records, he didn’t finish his advanced individual training (where you study the specific job you’ll have in the military).
If he had still been in, the Army *might* have gotten involved, because he would have had a life insurance policy and his survivors would have gotten some…
As I’ve written elsewhere: if we as a country are going to maintain the fiction that is the Great Second Amendment Lie that the Amendment has anything to do with an individual right to own a gun, if we are going to permit anyone to carry, then we damned well better get used to the idea of an innocent black man…
What amazes me isn’t the institutionalized level of racism that’s directed at people of color every day. What amazes me is the strength and grace with which people of color DEAL with that racism. What amazes me is the casualness of how people of color have integrated the little things they need to do to avoid…
The gun nut argument against banning AR-15s is “well, more deaths are caused by handguns than anything else!” And when we suggest banning (or even just slightly restricting) handguns, they say, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people!”
Yes, it’s very noticeable how they’ve worded their response to this. Instead of saying, “We shot an innocent black man who was trying to protect others.” Their wording has been, “The man was involved in a shooting...he brandished a gun...we do not *believe* he was the one that shot this one person...”
You can’t have it both ways. If we as a society (or at least in states such as Alabama) are going to be enablers of the Great Second Amendment Lie, then police are going to encounter armed innocent civilians legally bearing arms. Many of them will be black or other POC.
No permit requirements for handguns is incredibly stupid. Might as well just give a free gun to anyone convicted of domestic violence.
I’m scared to death to as much as lift my phone up to my face out in public, afraid that some asshole is going to mistake my phone for a gun and wind up getting my black ass shot.
Typical police media tactics in deceiving public of their interaction with black men:
Sad but expected, I called this over the weekend when they initially gave their “oops”.
SYG is literally a lethal coin toss of the brown paper bag test.
So just a reminder that Hoover PD has always been aggressive and racist.
