I had a manager that would get way too upset when people tried to return things, or tried to use a coupon. She was a stickler for the store’s policies, and so she’d fight tooth and nail to prevent them from being “exploited”.

This is my thing with all these “I don’t want to accept a coupon” people.

Thank you! I’m a retail manager. I tell my employees “if it scans or goes through...take it” Not my money and I’m not going to argue over a few bucks. I certainly wouldn’t call the police, that’s just ridiculous. 

Really, for $8/hr, at Dollar General. Whenever I encountered a competent (i.e. legal) couponer, I always asked how they did it. The are usually too willing to show how it’s done.

Call up that fucking store, get Slewfoot Ken’s ass on the line, tell him he fucked up, grab his Moon Pie stash and take his ass home and keep him off the schedule indefinitely, then tell Marsha she’s the manager, now, give her a 35 cent raise and hang the phone the fuck up.

In like 15 years of working retail I have never once argued with a customer about a coupon. How is it even possible to care about that shit? You work at Dollar General for minimum wage. This is ain’t your money. Why do you care?
