I think the well established format of play, volume, clicky d pad, etc is pretty intuitive. And was already at that point. The Zune basically used the same set of controls established for portable music with the original Walkman. In a format that had been fairly common since the early 90's.

Lucky you could get System Shock running at all. It’s legendarily hinky to even load up on modern systems. Daggerfall too, I have my old CD somewhere. I’ve never been able to get it to run on anything more modern than an actual DOS system.
