I was wondering why all the Frito Lay Reps I run into in the field had sudden been replaced by women in their late 20's. 

A company like Frito Lay relies on a decade of economic turmoil to keep employees around while they put off raises and lower starting pay. 

The past decade are so have seen the worst labor market in the US since the great depression. Mapping pretty closes to those 12 years there. Impacts have have disproportionately fallen on working class and blue collar job sectors and are concentrated in certain areas.

They only just renewed it. Seems like no one really expected a second season to be in the cards. These Disney+ shows were all announced as a single season or as mini series.

The environmental damage is the lake being there in the first place. It’s only existed since about 1905 and it was only a nice place to visit between about the 30s or 40s and 1970. With temps up and people dumping less water down there it's just reverting back to the toxic salt flat it always was. 

You could divert the Colorado river. Which is kinda how it happened in the first, and there’s been a body of water there in the deep past, like thousands of years ago deep past. But that would probably fuck shit up even worse.

The salts you’d be after are alkali salts. GM is going after lithium salts, but there’s like other useful elements up in there. These sorts of desert salt beds we tend not be talking about the kind of concentrated sodium chloride.

Problem with that is the water is largely run off/diverted from all that agriculture.

Sounds like they’re planning to basically filter the lithium out of the water. Which could actually improve the water quality, or could be done in a way that did.

On the “essentially a big TV” point. Early digital projection, weren’t great. “2k” (essentially 1080p), which isn’t too far off 35mm projection. But at the time bad luminescence, blacks and contrast. Mediocre color. And they started rolling it out before there were even 1080 cameras commonly available.

Poor mixes in home release have been an issue for a bit. It’s mostly because they’re shooting to replicate the movie rumblies on your home theater so they crank the bass, sound effects and music way up. While leaving dialogue quite low.
