5th Gear: As someone who works for a 3PL, that is scary. If the app really takes off, it will put a lot of us out of business. Just the fact that it offers a true GPS tracking service embedded into the app is a shipper’s/customer’s wet dream.

To be clear, I have a friend who works for Toyota and was able to place an order on the vehicle for me. Perhaps since I know him, he was able to do this for me. If that was the case, then yes special ordering may not actually apply to the average consumer.

False, I had ordered a 4runner to the spec I wanted and would’ve been able to follow the build process to the time of delivery. It was not a waitlist for an allocated model that would be similar to my desired spec.

As a current owner of a TRD Pro runner, it is near impossible to find one without a markup and the demand is so high. With that said, I have been happy with everything I’ve done with it including a 4 day off road excursion through death valley.
