Exactly. I don't know why they didn't go for the same kind of naming convention for the New 3DS as they did with the DSi. Maybe they could have done what Microsoft did with the different models of the Xbox 360 (i.e. 360, 360 S, 360 E).

I'm just hoping that no one who actually keeps up with video games thinks this is the 3DS's successor. The New 3DS isn't what the 3DS was to the DS. The New 3DS is just another model of 3DS. It's what the DSi was to the DS.
