Totally agree, that's what i've been trying to say. The games and the characters have all evolved. Leon was a lowly rookie cop and now he's part of and elite task force that fights off crazy monsters and zombies. I think he has grown a thick skin by now, which by the 6th plus game so have we as gamers. We are just as

Well, again, to each their own. I know when I hunker down to play a RE game I get in the mind set first. I turn out all the lights and only play at night. I find the games to be massively intense, much more so than any other third person shooter type game. So I find them to fit the survival horror genre perfectly.

Nope. You are wrong. If you played the older ones you would know they are more of the same just better in every way. Like the original games on steroids with a splash of awesome. You are wrong and I am right.

I think loud voices on the internet hate 5 and 6. I for one love them. I did miss the upgrade system for weapons in 6 but the story was fantastic to me. Every game has QTE's these days, so I don't know why people complain about them at this point. RE6 hardly even had them, people just over exaggerate it. They account

Firstly, as you admitted you did not play RE6, the demo was not even a close example of the entirety of that game. So stop talking about it like you know it. Secondly, opinions are not facts. I know that, the editor's can have their opnions as can you. What I don't like is how they sprinkle their factual articles with

I seriously honestly don't understand how you people can think that it was so awful when i think it was so awesome. Unfocused? It had a singular storyline, how is that unfocused? It had the most refined controls of the series to date, it was over the top campy fun just like the series has always been.

I do not share distaste for RE6, It was the ultimate RE in my opinion. It had it all, gameplay mechanics, story, thrills, intensity, and much more. And I too have loved every other game in the series, I love the movies too. I don't know why they get all the hate either. I'm kinda glad they didn't just rehash the games

Also, I want to add. That while you may be an experienced player not everyone is. There are some people who might expend more ammo in a situation that you might, might not be generally as good at games and that person will experience more deaths or short supply of ammo. We live in a shooter generation, we are all

I posted this on someone's else questioning of what survival means, here is the actual definition:

Well, to me survival horror plainly put is being put into a horrific situation in which you must survive to the outcome. I mean that is a simple definition of survival horror.

I have nostalgia for 1-3 as well. But it doesn't cloud my enjoyment of the new ones. I think it just has expanded to what it is now, evolved. And where in the world do people think the definition of survival includes low ammo and tough enemies, etc? Survival is survival. You could have all the guns in the world and

Dude, you completely missed my point. I never said surviving while saving the world was the definition of survival horror, I said surviving is survival and horror is horror, both aspects that RE4-6 carry. Even defined under your more strict definitions, they fit. The saving the world part is simply a result of

I was around for 1,2and 3. I have been playing RE from the start. I love how the series has evolved, so you can have your opinion and I'll have mine. I hope all this internet doesn't distract CAPCOM into thinking they should change anything as 6 was the ultimate version of RE to date. The only reason you didn't know

Awesome, glad to hear from you. I wish I had someone to play 5 and 6 with, I did eventually play 5 with a friend after I had already played it like 7 times. Anyway, played solo the AI is just fine, everyone else makes it sound so terrible. I totally agree with you on Chris's campaign, I almost teared up as well.

Well, I still stand by I think it's the natural evolving of the series and characters. In 1-3 these people where thrown into this new crazy thing and it has since spread to a global scale and terrorism and these characters have grown and become international agents, of course they got better weapons and tactics.

What I don't like is that Kotaku spreads the hate as if it's fact. It's like this anti RE propaganda. That's what I hate. They can not like the game but everytime they write an article about anything RE they mention how horrible 5 and 6 was. Just write about the actual facts, don't make up your own.

I like you, you nailed it on the head. I couldn't have said it better myself. It has evolved, it can't stay the same as it used to. That's probably why RE games still sell and Silent hill is a turd fest no one cares about as well as dead space. RE is fun and exciting, and while it may not have the cheap jump scares as

If you think they are bad then get out of my face. It's people like you who halt progress. By the way, I am not really that confrontational, I was emphasizing your childish remark. I think 5 and 6 are exactly what RE should be. 6 is were the series should sit for awhile. I love the multiple campaigns and play styles.

I totally agree, I don't know where people think the series should go. Should we just be running from all the zombies with no weapons? The more these people fight these things the more advanced they will get in fighting them, more weapons and tactics. Leon started as a lowly cop and now in an elite special agency. The

I loved 6, all the campaigns were awesome. I've always like Chris more than Leon. It's a shame you never finished Chris's campaign as I thought it ended up being the most emotional campaign of all 4 of them. Plus you never tried Ada's campaign. But whatever, you said it right, others did enjoy it and you didn't.
