I did this once by accident... with my laptop screen. Jerkface in front of me threw the seat back and nearly broke my screen. He got some choice words and a few seat kicks before I calmed down.
Some of these (on smaller planes) are more mechanical. Pull forward on the lever and then rotate down. If the seat has an area shaped like the armrest, only inversed, chances are you can put it down. If the area (either above or below) does not look like it could hold an armrest, chances are it wont budge.

That is why I only play ranked matches. Too many people in the general games drop out and for those split seconds between bots and people, it can be very frustrating. Ranked matches are taken more serious.

I see where you are coming from, however if you do a full boost from the start without touching the stick, the ball goes different places. The hitboxes are definitely different and many of the videos do an ok job of showing it.
It is only blocked when the ball is above your head and the camera drops low behind you to see it. It isnt as bad as some of the other vehicles.
I switched from the Paladin (favorite look, statistically worst car) to the Hotshot and have been pretty happy once I got the hang of it and got used to the larger vehicle blocking my view in certain situations.
Not sure if the hit boxes follow the “Pong” style of rebounds or not, but I think it is a straight box. Doesn’t always work like you think it should, but that could be a factor of the spin.
