Double sided tape is pretty smart, but buying better paper is a huge benefit. Thicker paper like the one she used, or the kind that have a slight grid inside will make a huge difference. Straight cut lines are really necessary.

Rather than make an exploit/cheat to skip encounters, they should have just made the no-encounters materia one of the first you find. Would have then been part of the real game, and not something tacked on, and would make it something you could easily choose to enact without feeling like cheating.

Midgard was essentially a straight line. That is why when 12 year old me stepped foot onto the world map, I was blown away. I am ok with it and it seems like they are keeping the dialog close to the original. Which might be campy now but it is the way to go.
