OOof, I’d have a sharp stick in the eye before I paid a monthly for a new Jetta.

I just got an auto 6 Touring a few weeks ago. Sports car? No. I’d say, oddly enough, it’s a touring car. Handling isn’t great. I blame the tires. My Monte Carlo SS was bad handling and couldn’t handle the power either when I got it. After I put summer only performance tires on it, it was awesome. I get the…
Counterpoint: We should be buying an Accord 2.0T 6MT Sport right now. It’s the best damn sedan on the market, IMO.
Mister Regular is the Marcel Duchamp of car review video people. His frequent descents into surreal non-sequitur are epic and legendary. I love this guy.
Probably because you don’t know what things cost.
Someone could discuss it with you in civil tones instead of, you know, assuming they’re doing this just to give you the middle finger.
What’s a V6 that doesn’t sound like crap...
NO!!!
It develops the power at lower RPMs and with less stress on the components.
A larger engine works less hard to make the same power as a smaller one. = better durability, long term. This 7.3L will (should?) return relatively decent fuel economy while actually doing real work.
Who is really taking this school bus with a bed off road???
“Sadly, I get the feeling a .45 would have been a more useful tool”
I think the implication was that if he took his own life, your suggestion of a .45 would be incredibly unfortunate in hindsight. Rates of suicide by firearm are nearly 2x the rates of homicide.
Unfortunately, gun owners are more likely to use one on themselves rather than in self defense. I think that was the implication you were missing.
The goal is to keep costs down while refurbishing it for resale. They figure someone buying a 146k mile car that was originally $85k base MSRP won’t care about the type of tire - just how rich they can look while spending little.
It will still have some loss and I bet it’s putting out closer to 500 than 550, but yes, it’s not going to lose compression and power like my old buddies 396 Chevelle did when it couldn’t keep up with a mini van.
We’re not in the 1950's anymore, a modern car won’t have any noticeable power loss at this age and with this mileage.
I’m a little worried about the Macho Cosmo (Cosmo Macho?) tires. Anyone who’d install those probably didn’t have the cash to correctly maintain the rest of the vehicle, so god knows what’s wrong with it.
I absolutely hate everything about this “truck” thing. If you want to rock 550hp, buy a car with a low center of gravity - like a Viper. This just has stupid written all over it. However, if you want to be an idiot, this is a good price point.
9 years and 146,000 miles later, I wonder how many of those 555 horses are still in the stable. I would spend the $16K on something that wouldn’t require a second mortgage the first time it had to be serviced. CP
