Honda did. 10 years ago. With the original Ridgeline. This is not a new feature.

Man, the FWD comments are amazing. It’s almost like Honda doesn’t offer an AWD model!

Hauling is fine. I’ve hauled mulch up to and beyond the payload capacity of my Ody plenty of times. Handling smooths out and acceleration is a bit dulled. That’s about all.

Low-mileage examples 5 years old and newer still go for mid-20s. I’m sure that will see a sharp decline once this new one goes on sale.

So, they were in the hatchback or in the trunk?

Because we’re here to tear down, not build up. And because it’s a Honda, all we’ve got are nits to pick at, because the overall package is pretty damned nice and well thought out.

If you’ve only got a half yard, get your shovel and push it forward. That is not much mulch.

Oh, and the answer to “who” is “tailgaters”.

There are no speakers in the bed. They’re exciters that vibrate the bed sides. They should be completely sealed off from weather atmosphere unless the truck is fully submerged.

Be honest — aren’t most of the 4-door half-tons you see of the short-bed variety, NOT the long-bed? Now that we’ve got that out of the way...

Unlikely the FWD version will be rated for 5000lbs like the current 4WD version. More likely, 3500lb like the FWD Odyssey and Pilot.

Needs a turbo V6 to make the moves back up the looks.

What? The last-generation Ridgeline had the same shallow bed, “inaccessible” spare, and FWD-biased AWD as this one.

In furniture is what you’re concerned about, a minivan with the seats folded/removed is a better buy.

If it sells better than the last Ridgeline, which it should, it will be barely cheaper than new until it gets to about 5 years old.

Hey, turbo that 3.5L up to the 550hp of the race truck, or as good as you can get on pump gas, and you’ll have your modern-day Syclone!

If this is truly a huge concern of yours, buy your mulch in easily-removed bags instead of loose, or take 30 seconds to remove the spare, lug wrench, and jack from under the bed before loading. You can then flip up one side of the rear seats and toss it on the rear cabin floor, or dig out a spot at the front of the

I want Honda to build me a truck that apes the off-roadability and toughness of its ATVs and off-road motorcycles.

Not even that! A yard of gravel or a pallet of bricks is HD pickup territory. You’re talking 1.5 tons for a yard of dense material like sand or gravel.

Also, on what planet can the jack that comes with any full-size pickup deal with the weight of the truck AND a pallet of bricks?
