Sweet! It was in response to something I said, so I'ma go ahead and claim alley-oop credit on this one. Well said, sir!

I think the difficulty is that the engine/transmission/chassis works as such an integrated system, introducing manual control to a part of that system would require substantial re-engineering. On a low volume vehicle, it just doesn't make sense, cost-wise, unless the vehicle is priced in hypercar range.
Thanks for your input. Most of us ultra car nerds just dream of even having a chance to drive, much less own, such machines. It's nice to know that there are people out there who can both afford them AND appreciate their abilities on the track, not just as a symbol of their wealth that will never be used above about…
The wiki article on the car has it, too.
I've seen one of the Monkeemobiles in person. When I noticed the blower and side exhausts were fake, I had a big sad...
Haven't read all replies, but I'm going to take a different tack here.
You might be surprised at what kind of efficiency can be squeezed out of a well-broken-in I6 with a tiny carb and the right cam. It won't be fast, by any stretch, but it'll be the type of car that can cruise at 80 on the highway in top gear all day without breaking a sweat.
Mother of God...
SAVE THE BOSSES!
I'm sure they are safer, from an active safety standpoint. I'll bet they stop and handle much better, thus more likely to avoid an impact. I'll bet they're less likely to roll over, so when those avoidance maneuvers are taken by the bus driver, the bus stays on all fours (or six, rather).
With a sufficiently stout roll cage, I'd love a friggin AWD turbo convertible. Bring it on!
You forgot your [sarcasm] tags.
That's fucking fantastic.
Isn't "jimmy [your] johnson" what you do after pissing to get the last bit out? I'd say that's a giggle-worthy name!
What I loved most is how he went anyway after he found first, when he had no chance. Durr.
I did for a bit. Not a motorcycle, but a 150cc scooter. It was a hoot to ride, but I arrived everywhere stressed out and needing a drink because of the stressed caused by inattentive car and truck drivers. Still, the entertainment was worth it.
Because for many of us, it's a 3-day weekend. We have Memorial Day off to continue pondering things related to the cult of cars.
All day? Can it tow a trailer full of petrol at 300 kph, too? I imagine it won't take long for the w12 to drink the tank dry at a steady 300kph.
I don't think you could get a Tahoe to go 199 if you dropped it out of a plane. Terminal velocity of that brick has to be somewhere south of 199.
Seriously. I've even got my 18 month old trained to stop and turn around immediately when I yell stop with the right tone. All my kids know the difference between the "daddy's playing" and "daddy's f*cking serious" tone of voice. Either this kid has a disability or the dad deserved to have his Jeep take a swim for the…
