In fairness, McGregor consistently puts on great fights. If you tune in and ignore everything he says, he gives you a great value for your money.

It was a clear 48-47 decision. McGregor definitely won the rounds he took, but wasn’t having clear cardio issues and lost the middle of the fight convincingly. I don’t know how you can describe a 3 rounds to 2, back and forth fight that turned on the final round as anything other than a narrow win.

Victor Ortiz. I think that was in 2012, but couldn’t say for sure.

True Dan Gilbert story: he got drunk and punched a former business partner in the face at a bar mitzvah my little sister was at.

Daley was also responsible there: he stopped throwing the second he saw Ward go down. Shame he is still permabanned from the UFC, he would be a lot of fun in the modern welterweight division.

Mere enforcement without interpretation is a literal impossibility. There are inherent limits to the clarity of language and the power of foresight that necessarily make enforcement an interpretative process. Moreover, virtually every modern law is passed with the intent of giving discretion to executive branch

LA actually is one of the few cities to turn a profit with the games: they didn’t have to build any new stadiums, so costs were kept under control. The same dynamic will be at play in 2024.

Glad to see his side gig as a stripper is going well.

Great boxer, but not historically great (you won’t find many putting him top 10 all time, even just top 10 welterweights). He would have been a top contender in virtually any era, but would likely not have been champ long in any era prior to the 90s.

Yeah, I don’t see Diaz-Nurmagomedov happening. That’s a serious nightmare matchup for Diaz, who’s simply not a good enough wrestler to keep it upright and no one is submitting Nurmagomedov from their back.

I like how Simmons can only understand sports insofar as they relate to his precious Boston teams.

It’s way at the north end of the suburbs, though. Going up I-75 from there, you have Orion, Oxford, then I’m pretty sure it’s just wolves all the way to Flint. Meanwhile there are about a million people living in Livonia, Dearborn and the like for whom Auburn Hills is an hour away without traffic, not to mention

No, it is not a felony. Speech like this can’t be criminalizes unless it is a true threat (extremely limited category that this obviously doesn’t come even remotely close to falling into) or likely to cause imminent harm (I.e., about to cause an actual lynching). The US does not have any sort of lesemajeste law that

The worst thing about this story is realizing that Bon fucking Jovi is rich enough to buy an NFL team.

You can’t cut a team slack for not realizing a player would be elite when the team’s entire strategy is based around maximizing draft value, i.e., being good at evaluating talent. I’d also point out that a big part of the reason the Sixers passed on Kristaps is that he refused to work out for them because he had no

Virtually no currently good teams got that way from multiple consecutive years tanking. The Warriors were mediocre until new leadership proved particularly good at talent evaluation and development. The Spurs had one screwy off year in a shortened season where they lucked into Tim Duncan after being in the Western

Because he had two hands on it, both feet in bounds, and maintained control through falling to the ground. How is that not clear?

Maryland would’ve been a clear 6th over Clemson. Maryland USA fine school, Clemson and NC State are wildly mediocre, Moreno par with the Big 12 than the upper portion of the ACC.

Hey man, Rovell was a fucking theater major, don’t try to foist him onto the business school! They didn’t do anything to deserve being associated with Rovell, not even those of them that wind up in banking.

The best part about it is that the guy responsible was shortlisted for the Turner Prize, which, for those not in the know, is both one of the most prestigious art awards on earth and something of a running joke with a serious hard-on pretentious mediocrities like Damien Hirst
