"Cut it, Coolio - let's try it again without the lip." :p

I am waiting for a Chili Peper to tell you to 'suck my kiss'

Philip Seymour Hoffman talking to Lara Flynn Boyle's character on the phone and saying, "I'm going to fuck you so hard I'll be coming out of your ears!" (10/10) Jon Lovitz getting dumped by Jane Adams in the creepy, funeral parlor looking restaurant and retracting the gift - best movie ever.

Turned on to Brainiac when they opened for The Jesus Lizard and became the locus for weird, propulsive noise which is strange considering the company they were in that night. Records still hold.

Many gripes to pick here, but you landed on Bedhead and I'm cool with that. (Bravo.)

The girl looks embarrassed bc she is surrounded by guys who look like they might cry, which is actually very emo.

Ditched on High-Rise half way through, have watched The Lobster countless times - this movie feels completely fresh to me. Luv: the casting; lighting, and dance parts. There's also some particularly memorable John C. scenes.

Eh - I don't think you have been paying attention to music in the past 3-4 yrs :/

If it was 'intellectual' to suggest violence in reference to a promotional band photo, yes - my theory is that you could be projecting deep-seated emotional insecurity about not looking like the band members in question. Alternately, I believe you have never seen a photograph of the band The Parenthetical Girls.

Who cares

Was really hoping the band Diet Cig was going to be good.

Frealzies? Big Modern Lovers guy. Never thought (for one second) that the delivery was more than a carefully contrived affectation. Guy has a song about the ice cream man, gmafb.

Had no idea Old Joy was as revered as it is - just going to stick to the Oldster's music.

This movie is barely passable for background imagery while doing chores around the house. Also would have enjoyed this more if Christian Bale was doing a cameo and this was the content of his actual life. (Which it may actually be - I have no idea?)

The ninties were rife for cultivating the most sanctimonious bands going, which set up a high school dance-type scenario, where all the cool kids were on one side of the dance floor, making fun of all the other kids on the other side. The exception being, of course, that there was very little dancing, and in this case

Was able to watch this in two sittings over the weekend. It's difficult for me to comment on this movie within the full scope of Realpolitik lgbt whatever, but what I enjoyed was the relationship between Gerda (Alicia Vikland) and Einar/ Lili. (Surprised that this review does not really comment on this.) Within the

Yes. Watched this over the last couple of days and it's great. The slow motion battle scenes in the woods and the consumer parts struck me as particularly genius - Colin Farrell is also surprisingly good.

Agreed - this movie was a veritable snooze fest, despite the impact of its trailer. For some reason I initally mistook this for a Michael Haneke film, but that became quickly diffused.

Crystal Hairy 4 pres.

The part in GS where Natalie Portman takes off her headphones and declares that she is listening to The Shins strikes me as one of the more cringe worthy moments in movies where music is referenced, and seemed to set off a period where films would self consciously do this type of thing to establish credibility. It
