The official scorer could’ve easily dished out three errors on that play.

I don’t agree with the scoring on that play either, there’s no way you can score that a single. I’d give E3 for the drop and then E6, E5 errors for not covering their bases. I’m assuming it’s shortstop’s cover there since the pop-up was slightly on the 2B side. Three errors need to exist in some way.

The only smart one on that play was the pitcher who looked around and said “I’m outta here”.
