Google’s “stellar” search algorithms? Did it get some new ones? When I actually need to find something on the internet, I use Duckduckgo. Google search has been overrated since day one.

I, for one, prefer the look of the “big, dumb, black tube” than the air freshener that Google Home is.

I didn’t notice them mention what happens when everyone in your house has different contacts with the same first names, or different playlists called the same name or other things like couples with different commutes?

DOA just like most Google hardware. They have no chance against Amazon unless the completely open it up. At that size, I don’t see the speaker competing with the Echo either. Sorry Google, you lose again. Pick a messaging app before you dive into a hardware project.

Amazon wins because Amazon Echo is also tied to the ability to easily order massive amounts of stuff from Amazon. Most people don’t need another device to provide answers to questions. You can use your smartphone, laptop, tablet, watch for that.

...and the ability to control all the smart appliances in your home—including Google’s own Nest.

I was merely being a smart ass. I have no problem with the Amazon black tube, looks a lot better than the Renuzit styled Google device.

Why is the black tube a problem? If anything, it makes the Echo more discreet, which is what the vast majority of users would want in their homes.

Did they have to make it look like a dollar store air freshener though?

It looks like the smartest air freshiner ever. Does it come in Summer Breeze?

Yeah so this looks waaaaay worse than the Echo. like, I think my mom could stick this next to her bathroom airfreshner and it wouldn’t look out of place.

it looks like it also comes in different scents.

That is one huge butt-plug.

I have an Echo and 2 Dots, but we use them for music way more than we do for shopping. We use it for home control about the same amount as music.

I use my Echo all the time, so… *shrug*

I’ve had an Echo for about 3 weeks. Alexa is pretty cool. She can play music, do some shopping and tell some funny jokes. The biggest surprise. Her voice and speech cabalility. Her voice is light years ahead of Siri (IMHO) in terms of fluidity. Alexa still has some fumbles when it comes to answering certain questions

I generally use Echo for shopping quickly so I don’t think I would switch to Google Home to quickly. Who uses Google for shopping?

“But unlike Amazon Echo, which can be a little dumb when you ask questions”

Not that the Echo sounds great, but but appearance of this thing seems to suggest that music playback is an afterthought and this is the main reason I use my Echo.

wow, somebody has been drinking the google milk
