Cost for a replacement has been all over the place. I’ve seen GM dealers offering replacement batteries for $2200 and then the same dealer offering them later for $7000. MSRP has fluctuated wildly, too.

The battery warranty is 100,000 miles. It is liquid cooled and like a Prius isn't ever fully discharged. So there isn't a lot of stress placed on it . Overheating is what kills batteries so that's why the batteries in cars like the Prius and volt last so long.
