What about dates for previous jobs held? They can be used to spot gaps in employment, which some places may consider to be a red flag. Instead of listing dates, you could simply give a rough duration.

That is nuts...

This for sure! When I bought my new house, I thought the AC was good quality based on the compressor & condenser brand installed outside. Unfortunately, the quality of the evaporator and air handler was awful. Basically it was the cheapest unit money could buy. I ended up spending $4k over 8 years of ownership before

When we sold our place last year, we replaced the carpet in the house prior to listing. We bought middle-tier grade carpet and pad and had a guy install it. It was pretty cheap, but we didn’t have much square footage as most of the house was hardwood and tile. We had 2-3 dogs, plus doggy visitors, while we lived in

Thanks for the info!

What is the anticipated life on the battery pack? What about the battery warranty and replacement cost?

It seems that there are still quite a few Volts to be sold before the phase out begins. Assuming an 90% outlet to battery efficiency, charging the battery will require 20 kWh of energy. At 12 cents/kWh, it will cost $2.40 to charge the battery. This assumes that all 18.4 kWh from the battery are used when the battery

As long as it is in good, running condition, I’d daily drive it for that kind of money. NP!

I’ve been in both camps. I started with my company when I was single in my late 20's, no significant other or really any obligations. I worked a lot of nights and weekends (with good comp time, so it wasn’t too bad) so that people with families wouldn’t have to. Now that I’m married with a 2 year old, I push back

Are you and your spouse on the same page? I think that is really important when dealing with suggestions from either set of grandparents and other in-laws. Ultimately it isn’t their child, and it isn’t their money. If they are giving you a lot of flak though, it might be time to talk to your spouse and make sure you

Different strokes for different folks is all. I can see the appeal of suburban life, but I enjoy being in the city more. It might change as my daughter gets older, we’ll see.

Unable to watch the video here... which song was it? I caught A Praise Course from Bleed American on the radio the other night. I sat in my car in the driveway until it was over... My wife went inside, but told me that 2001 called and they want their music back. I can’t believe that JEW album I love so much is 15

Do you live in Houston? I passed all of those signs on my daily drive from the Heights to Baytown for work. I’m now located in Singapore on expat assignment, but will move back in another year or so. I miss Houston... those simple pictures put a smile on my face today. Thanks!

The Texas Hill Country is really pretty. A flight to Austin plus a rental car plus an AirBnB or a HomeAway or a VRBO can net you a really nice, cute place to stay. My wife and I stayed in someone’s guest house west of Austin for a few days last spring and it was lovely. The house was on the edge of a canyon and was

I see what you goal is there... to bring down the overall rate. However I agree with the previous poster... do not consolidate into one loan (even if you could). Don’t willingly take on someone else’s debt if you don’t have to. If your wife dies, her student loan debt dies with her. If you two split up, her debt goes
