2nd Gear: Toyota will sell a self-driving car in one year.

If there were ever proof of the axiom that “if it exists, Formula 1 fans will complain about it”, this is it. They’ve literally done exactly what people have asked in simplifying the presentation of the tires, and of course we have to be upset about the behind the scenes nomenclature now.

In global thermonuclear warcyber security, the only winning move is not to play.

Misleading title by leaving off imported. At least make it somewhat honest by saying ‘Trump may make every single car more expensive’. Because that’s what a protective tariff may do. Not in all cases but at least that’s reasonably correct.

I don’t support these tariffs, but why is there so little talk about the tariffs that other countries have?

TARRIFS ARE TAXES YOU FUCKING MORONS. IF YOU WANT AN EXTRA 25% TAX VOTE TRUMP.

Yep. The complaints of these politicians, roughly translated:

How many miles per headgasket does it get?

If an asteroid were on a collision course with Earth in 2040, we’d presumably drop everything to avoid our fate and save ourselves.

Would you have expected anything else?

Headline is shortsighted, Ryan. The solution isn’t necessarily electric vehicles. If everyone switches to electric and we start burning more coal to fuel plants, we aren’t getting anywhere. The headline should be about reducing VOC, toxic, and particle emissions, and reducing CO2 output dramatically as a whole. The

Heavy metals. Rare-Earth elements. More intensive and complex production cycles. More expensive to produce. This is what we want to do for *all* modes of transportation? No. It’s simply unsustainable, and we’re just creating further problems down the road. A simple, non-hybrid gasoline vehicle is always going to have

I find it amusing that this report comes out a day or two after Torch decides to basically call everyone who buys an SUV/CUV an idiot for not buying a hatch instead. While it may seem like a silly thing, this is a real, valid, rational reason to buy a vehicle that is higher off the ground.

1st gear: I have to say that, even if I’m not even 40 years old, getting in and out from my small SUV is noticeably more comfortable than any cars I ever had. My last car was a Boxster, I drove it daily it for over 8 years and I must admit that, passionate as I am about cars, some days I really wasn’t looking forward

Ultra low mileage cars are not cars. The are museum pieces. Even considering turning them on and driving them ruins the value.

Meanwhile, the BRZ / 86 patiently wait for more than just 5 horsepower

You’re killing me... I keep telling myself

Nah, Clarkson is in the wrong here.

Only in a rotary Mazda can you be a fan boy and shit talk your own car at the same time and everyone gets the joke...

That is pretty much how it is now; the teams that can afford to pay drivers do, and the teams that funded by drivers don’t. The problem is there aren’t all that many paying seats out there, and they’ve been getting more and more scarce every year.
