I always use my real name. With enough motivation, there are ways to deduce a real name from a pseudonym. IMO, using a pseudonym lulls people into a false sense of security and gives them extra incentive to post something that they wouldn't want associated with their name.

As I recall, you don't actually need to fund your account to trade with paper money. I used the tos platform for several months, solely for paper money, without having put a single cent in my Ameritrade account. Maybe they have changed their policies since then, though.
