I think it's also worth mentioning that the LTE ready versions have GPS whereas the wi-fi only versions do not. Even if you're not using cellular data, there are applications that do offline maps that are only compatible with a version of the iPad that has an assisted GPS.
Yes, only in the LTE versions. That's the only reason I bought an LTE 1st-gen mini and why I'll be getting a 2nd-gen of the same flavor. Like using offline maps.
