As a driver with a relatively small frame how much of an advantage do you see this being for you? Looking at F1 for example we are seeing taller heavier drivers being literally squeezed out of the cars... in favour of smaller drivers who count for less of the minimum weight.

That's a fair statement. However my experience with "put your had out in a crash" of the non motorcycle sports related type. I've shredded the ball (ouside) of my hand, which hits the ground first. Exactly where that plastic slider is placed.
Additionally the Summit H20 is as waterproof as the +150 price tag implies it should be.
The palm slider in the revit summit and summit h20 is very good, I have tested it in a real world slide with no injury.
