To be fair, this is nowhere near what happened last year, when temperatures got below zero for 48 hours, and didn’t break the freezing point for several days, along with snow and ice. The temperature dipping into the 20s for a couple days in the winter isn’t that uncommon here.

Depends on which tests get sent out, but they almost surely expire. The BinaxNow tests I have at home (stocked up in October) expire in March 2022. If you get 5-6 months, then tests sent at the end of January should probably be good into June or July.

Unless required for a LOT of things.  Most importantly, day care for toddlers or kids under the minimum age for a vaccine.  With free test kits I would test before visiting the elderly or prior to a trip or something.  This would have been a good thing far earlier, but it isnt useless/pointless.

The one I took last week was made in Oct 2021 and had an expiration date of Oct 2022, can’t say that the year is standard across all brands though.

It’s far simpler, and more accurate to just assume it’s everywhere and to get all your vaccinations, including the flu shot.
