I think we are supposed to understand the shooting of Tuskens from the train as an attempt to force them to entirely leave the area. The train leader says something like, “We thought you were uncivilized raiders and we were trying to protect our route,” the implication being they were not in fact confident the Tuskens…

The thing is, canon and publicly recognizable are entirely unrelated things. Aphra and Krrsantan are certainly canon. But based solely on sales of the comics, the vast majority of Star Wars fans wouldnt know who they are because only a fraction of them read the comics. 

Fuck easter eggs. We’re getting lore. We’ve learned more about Tuskens than the past 50 years (less if you count Phantom Menace) has ever shown. We learned that there’s such a thing as Tusken craftsmen, for example. And that their ceremonies involve a psychedelic lizard that likes your brain.

All comic book and EU characters are obscure.

I think it’s less about saving the natives, and more about building the trust/respect of the outcasts of Tatooine as he climbs to leadership. It is showing how he can become a better leader than Jabba. When they took the train, he brokered a deal rather than murder everyone. I would imagine the next couple flashbacks…

This article fails to mention the primary utility of cloth masks - they protect OTHER people from YOU by limiting the spread of airborne particles when you cough or sneeze. If you’ve got a better-quality mask, by all means use it, but putting this article under a headline of “Stop Wearing Cloth Masks” is dangerously…
