There was a certain beauty to Morel Orel. You cared about these people. Rick and Morty is playing dangerously close this seaon to Family Guy levels of asshole humor and unlikable characters.

But people aren't going to get that. They'll just think "it's cool". Also, this episode had no counter-weight, just an impotent Morty.

Oh look, someone took a shit on your Holy Franchise.

I think it also has a bit of Doomsday as a reference in that episode. Great movie.

But Rick shows affection and empathy- then blows up the Rapist. There's some vestige of light. This episode was just edgy squared.

Is next week's episode the episode where Jerry socks him in the face? Because it's gotta happen.

Nah, I'm looking forward to seeing Jerry- who's transitioned into Milhouse's dad, show up in next week's episode. No doubt lots of "loser" jokes and Jerry being a butt to Rick's brilliance will take place.
It may yet go the other way. So far it's 2/4 in good episodes.

Rick does not have severe social anxiety. Rick is always in control, always successful, always logical, and more than willing to rub people's faces in it. Of course, that isn't the writers intention, it's in showing Rick as a damaged person, but the same could be for Rorschach, or an innocent character like Pepe, who

Rick Sanchez is getting a lot of Ferris Bueller going into his Doc Brown.
Ferris Bueller is a douche.
I predict one more season at the most. This is starting to feel played. At worst, it becomes a sciencey South Park for the alt-right crowd.

I knew they were all going to die the minute they made an appearance. I also had a feeling Rick was really into the Mr. Poopy-Butthole type custodian hero guy.
This episode was predictably unpredictable.

Rick's Tyler Durden schtick is getting tiresome.

Which makes this episode really dumb.

It wasn't even a good skewering of superhero tropes.

Calling it, Rick replaces Pepe.

But when's the comeuppance?

Nah.
Rick's got too much plot armor going.
It's like someone combined Doc Brown with Ferris Bueller.
Ew.

This episode felt really mediocre. I really like the Avengers/Guardians, and yethe it still felt like a Limp parody.

Rick Sanchez has become that annoyingly smug friend who's right all the time but you still hang-out with because he's funny, but after a while it's just irritating to have him around because you realize he's a smug boor, so you find yourself staying at home watching TV instead.

That's what Regular Show is for.
Or looking up 80's movies on Netflix.

All the nopes in the world.
